Diagonal Weave Baby Bonnet

I just finished up a pattern test today. I LOVE the texture of this little hat! Jen’s on a roll with this stitch. As always, her patterns are clear and concise with photo illustrations as needed.

I’m testing another hat with with this texture as well. I’m planning on having it done sometime tomorrow. Tonight is Minion time… I have a little guy going out on Tuesday. I also have a pattern test that I’m finishing up for a gorgeous wrap. I’ll post photos of it when I’m done too.

Little Mickey’s New Hat

My Sweet Pea was gone for most of the month of August (and he was NOT happy about that, but we didn’t have a choice). I missed him like crazy. I threw myself in my work and that’s when Minion Hat Mania hit. It was very fitting because he LOVES the Minions from Despicable Me. Every time I worked on a hat, I could see him smiling.

I always try to do special things for him. Especially things that make him laugh. He has giggled non-stop about the Minion hats I made for both of us. So I figured that his beloved Little Mickey should join the club:

He went crazy when he saw this! And I giggled the whole time I made it!

I’m so glad that he appreciates the things that I make for him. He thanked me just last night for a hat that I made for him over a year ago. I hope his appreciation for handmade items carries on through his lifetime. I sure it will πŸ™‚

Everything’s Coming Up Yellow!

Well, it seems that Minion Mania is in full swing! I’m going to blame my little guy for that. He was the one who wanted to see the movie. Then he went and made me fall in love with it! It didn’t really help that at the end of the movie he copies the dance sequence LOL

I am so grateful for the orders and the support with these little guys! What many people don’t know is that my little guy has been away for most of the month and he won’t be home for another week and a half. Basically, it’s like trying to function without having my heart in my body. Let’s just say that it’s a bad situation, I don’t want to send him and he doesn’t want to go. But instead of shutting down and getting depressed while he is gone, I’ve decided to make the best of it. I took my spinning course. Did spinning demos. And then suddenly, the floodgates opened and the Minion hat requests started pouring in. The timing couldn’t have been more perfect. I’m so busy that I don’t have time to look at the clock. I can’t believe it’s Thursday already!

Again, I want to thank everyone for the love and support they’ve shown us. Sure, you may think you just ordered an item. But it means so much more than that. Thank you.

Vader and the Crocodile

Vader is almost complete. I thought he was in this pic, but then I noticed he was missing the ridge at the top of his helmet. I know, picky, picky. I based this hat on the pattern by Snappy Tots. While this pattern was easy to follow, I could not get my tension to match. I ended up doing my own thing for a majority of this hat, but I just wanted to mention this pattern because that’s where I got my inspiration from.

I’ll have this for sale at Finnegan Lake Gallery located in Coe Hill, Ontario. I also have some crocodile stitch slippers for sale there and will be taking more over this weekend. I’m hoping to get a couple of pairs done using these yarns:

Time to get to work!

Pattern Testing Galore!

It’s been an exciting, busy week around here. In addition to spinning, I completed three different pattern tests (well, 4 if you count my booboo of missing the size posted that I was asked to work on). I really do enjoy testing patterns! I also made a bunny hat for a sweet little man for his first Easter photo shoot. He totally stole my heart!

I have another test for Crochet by Jennifer as well. No time for mischief here! hehehe

Oh dear blog, I haven’t forgot you…

If there was a way that I could crochet and type at the same time, I would be updating all of the time! I know I don’t have a whole lot of readers, but I’m sure those that do stop by have noticed a serious lack of posting.

It started out that the Dishcloth-A-Day was taking up most of my time. Between that, a sweater I should have finished ages ago, public speaking and looking after an almost-four-year-old, that didn’t leave a whole lot of time for blog updating.

Then I made one of these and posted it…

Since then, I have had quite a few requests for one, among other hats. I LOVE IT!

I think the other thing is that for some reason, I have it in my mind that I need to type a lot to update. I need to get rid of that kind of thinking. A picture says a thousand words. Maybe I should just be posting more pictures πŸ˜‰

Edit: As much as I would LOVE to take credit for this pattern, the only thing I can take credit for is the leaves on top. This is the link to Crochet Creations by Steph, the person who wrote it πŸ™‚

I’m in LOVE with these patterns!

Yep, totally in love with Jen’s patterns! The are so easy to follow. She puts references in there that a lot of designers don’t. Many just assume that you know how to do everything. Jennifer really wants you to succeed. Aside from notes and links, she’s always just an email away πŸ™‚

So here are a couple more patterns that I have tested for her:

Lily Newsgirl Beanie

Katrina Cloche

I fell asleep last night on the couch, so I didn’t get everything done yesterday that I wanted to. I’m not going to beat myself up about it though. I’ve done more stitching in the last 2 weeks than I think I ever have! Today I finished yesterday’s dishcloth. Next I will be taking Little Man out for a walk to get some lunch (he REALLY needs some fresh air and some running!). I’m not sure if I’m going to have a nap today or not. I have been staying up late working, so I may set that as my schedule. It’s funny because I find it easier to stay up really late than I do to get up early and do the same thing. I REALLY want to get that sweater finished up. And I’ve had a few requests for some items. I love it!

On another note, I’ve received some comments in my Spam folder. I suspect they are spam. I just hope I haven’t deleted any legit ones. Some of the ones that I have been getting have talked about how they like my blog, but it seems really generic. I do apologize if you have commented and it’s been legit. If you want to make sure that your comments are included, please make sure they are specific to that particular post. SPAMMERS, YOUR COMMENTS WILL BE DELETED SO DON’T BOTHER WASTING YOUR TIME OR MINE.
